Obituary

On October 9, 1989 God smiled down on Elton and Mevelyn (Pat) Hobson and blessed them with their youngest son, Elton Hobson Jr. (Jay). Jay was a quiet, loving person with a smile that was so bright it could light up any room he entered.

He was educated in the Detroit Public Schools system. He was an active student at Michigan Works where he endeavored to accomplish his educational goals.

Jay was from a large extended family and he enjoyed being with all of them. He adored his parents and treasured every moment spent with his brothers and friends. He had a fervent love for fishing, music, videos, new technologies, and style.

Jay made his transition on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Sinai-Grace Hospital. His loving memory will be cherished by his parents, Elton and Pat; three brothers, Eugene (Carolyn), Brandon and Demond;

one niece, Beyonce; two nephews, Caelan and Jaelan; a grandmother, Ethel J. Hobson; a very special great-aunt, Odie Moore; aunts, Eula, Veronica, Bonnie, Linda, Terrie, Angela and Sheila; uncles, Wiliam, Marshall, Calvin, Gary, and Tony; and a host of other relatives, friends, and neighbors. He will be missed by all and forgotten by none.
